Schools of Nursing
During the 1980's in Australia, General Nursing training moved from hospital based training (where nurses taught nurses everything they knew) and student nurses worked a 8.5-9 hour shift, (sometimes longer, with no overtime) and a typical day included breaks for breakfast and lunch. Nurses also had to do up to eight hours study every day of the year, with examinations every few months. Training was 3 years long, and the first 6 weeks it was compulsory you live at the hospital Nurses Quarters, irrespective of the fact you may own a house, have children or be married. Nursing moved into Universities and colleges from 1980 to 1985. Now almost every Australian university has a School or Faculty of Nursing.

Hospital trained nurses (and doctors) still want to know about reunions and catch up with old friends, so a list of Australian Hospitals is also included. If you can add any information to what is here, I'd love to hear from you!
