Braithwaite and two other inmates, Daniel Ian Beveridge and Shane Homer, disappeared from the Numinbah
Correctional Centre on the afternoon of June 17, 2000. Braithwaite, a burglar, had more than two years left to serve on his sentence. Police warned the public not to approach any of the escapees and urged anyone with information to contact their local police.
