Poland figures as the biggest importer of alcoholic beverages in Central and Eastern Europe. The revenue of the wine market in the country has been on an upward trend, with a noticeable advantage for still wine, whose revenue reached more than 2 billion U.S. dollars in 2025. Significant development of Polish winemaking occurred around the 14th century, when it began to become independent of merely liturgical needs.
