Mobile payments in the Nordics - statistics & facts
Mobile payment apps are on the rise in the Nordic countries. Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland are all heading towards becoming more and more cashless. Paying with a debit or credit card is the most common payment method, but the use of mobile payment apps is increasing. Danes were the most frequent users of mobile payment apps as of September 2019, when almost half of the population used this payment method at least once a week. Sweden followed, then Norway and Finland.
