The Aerial
Medical Services operated by Territory Health Services, provides emergency
evacuations to the population in the Northern part of the Territory, whilst
the Royal Flying Doctor Service provides the service to the people of the
Centre.

Overview
Five public
hospitals, located in Darwin, Alice Springs, Nhulunbuy (Gove), Katherine
and Tennant Creek form a network throughout the Territory. In total there
are 570 public hospital beds in the Territory. Future scope of acute care
services is not limited to the parameters of the public hospital environment
and partnerships are currently being developed with Private service providers.
